Beginning with projects in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, AECOM has been active in Africa since the 1960s. Today, we offer our services across the continent and are present in more than 30 African countries. With talented professionals in multiple locations, AECOM has the capability and sound knowledge of Africa’s specific infrastructure needs and challenges.
One of our recent projects in Africa is a US$50-billion Infrastructure and Housing Development Program in Libya. As the program manager and main advisor of this initiative, our talented professionals will design new housing and infrastructure systems, and upgrade existing transportation and utility systems in order to modernize and sustain all of the major cities throughout Libya.
We provide a blend of global reach, local knowledge, innovation and technical excellence that enable us to seize opportunities and help achieve the future goals of African countries. Whether fulfilling the need for major commodities or supporting local development, we have the capability of working on a project from creation to completion and beyond.
Supported by and in collaboration with major African and worldwide organizations such as the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the West African Development Bank (WADB), the World Bank (WB), the African Development Bank (ADB), the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and many bilateral donor agencies, AECOM provides practical solutions that meet today’s challenges.
When it comes to opportunities for enhancing and protecting the world’s built, natural and social environments, Africa’s potential is as vast as its territory. We partner with clients to deliver their projects and visions, reliably and efficiently.
