University/Training Academy
Our University/Training Academy framework is the foundation for training and development throughout AECOM. Its main purpose is to make all training and development opportunities available to staff, thereby providing a starting point for the facilitation of career development.
Training needs are addressed in a number of options including structured internal/external training initiatives in management, technical, commercial, personal and professional skills; internal/external seminars and active promotion of events.
Educational Assistance
As a global leader in professional technical services, AECOM supports lifelong learning and may offer reimbursement for specified expenses incurred by taking job-related coursework.
Licenses, Registrations and Certificates
AECOM encourages all employees to obtain recognized professional licenses and registrations in their disciplines. We also assist our employees in obtaining and maintaining professional licenses and registrations as well as becoming qualified and certified in job-related specialty areas. In a many regions there is a reward mechanism in place to recognize the achievement of full membership of a relevant, recognized professional institution.
Professional Society Membership
Employees are encouraged to join job-related professional societies in their respective fields and to participate in society activities, particularly in leadership roles, and may be reimbursed for eligible fees and expenses on a specified number of memberships.
Seminar and Conference Attendance
Personal growth through attendance, networking and participation at professional conferences and seminars is encouraged, with eligible costs reimbursed by the company subject to manager approval.
Professional Publications and Honorariums
In many locations, incentives are offered to employees who author, publish, and/or present technical papers developed on their own time.
